I traded my stethoscope for a spatula…and found my way back to joy.

For nearly twenty years, I practiced family medicine, listening deeply, caring for others, and carrying stories of resilience and hardship. But somewhere along the way, I lost touch with my own spark.

Baking had always been my quiet refuge. Even in the busiest years, I found myself in the kitchen late at night, whisk in hand, creating something sweet to share. Baking became my way of restoring joy — a practice of beauty, creativity, and connection.

Eventually, I followed that passion all the way to The French Pastry School in Chicago. In mastering pâte à choux, caramels, tart dough, and the simple poetry of French pastry, I rediscovered the spark I thought I had lost.

Today, through Gourmet Layers, I share handcrafted confections, seasonal offerings, French-inspired recipes, and sweet lifestyle ideas, all shaped by the belief that everyday moments deserve a touch of luxury and care.
